Some more new things I was fooling around with. The “Absolution” drawing is taking a long longer than I had thought, especially since I keep adding things to it that I really shouldn’t. I haven’t even gotten started on the background yet. So this was a nice little creative break.

I don’t know what got into Ash while he was around, but he dragged me through some strange little encounters. We’ve talked about Don Carlos’ hat for a while, wanting to get one. But just never found a group for it. So, he turned around, looked at me, and said, “We’re going to duo him.”

And so we did. We headed into Heroic Caverns of Time, found the guy wandering around with his dog, and killed him. Sure it took a Prot Warrior and a Holy Priest like… 10 minutes to kill him, but we managed to do it without any incident. Unfortunately he then got cocky and tried to duo the whole of Heroic Durnholde, which didn’t go too well. The Marksmen scattershot, and that makes his thread drop to 0, and then my HP drop to 0 as well… But if it weren’t for that, we probably could very easily take on those groups of 4-5 Elites.

… Just like we did after I accidentally started up Battle of the Crimson Watch. Go ahead and read what they say about this quiest. Group quest requiring 5 people. We did it with two. The whole thing. And even got our [Green Trophy Tabard of the Illidari]. Just the two of us! I guess that’s how you know when you’re moving up in gear and skill in the world.

As you’ve undoubtedly seen by the tiny slanted-eyed and big-headed caricatures on google.com, the Olymics have finally begun, and they’re in China. And to celebrate, Blizzard has introduced:

The tabard, of course, is white with the five different-coloured Olympic rings and is thus hideous as hell. The pet is a little Chinese dragon that looks a lot like Mushu from Mulan and humps the ground wildly if I make it ride behind my epic mount. Everyone’s got the tabard, but apperantly in the 61-69 bracket of battlegrounds, seeing a win on Alliance side is like hoping to get struck by lightining in the middle of the city on a perfectly clear and sunny day.

However… the upside was that everyone and their bored mother were queuing up for battlegrounds.

I remember getting excited for an “Arathi Basin 4″ battleground. But 1992? Holy friggin’ crap.

And so I’ve been milking the hell out of battlegrounds this weekend. I’m currently LV63 and have managed to get all 50 necessary Arathi Basis marks for my 70 PVP gear. And that’s with only about 5-6 wins. If I have to look at another Stable or Blacksmith again, I’m going to go crosseyed.

And now… back to more BG’ing.

We finally got to Illidan Stormrage last week! Killed Illidari Council on Monday night just before the reset, and hiked up to Illidan to see what he was all about. Actually managed to get him to 80% when some dummy started the event mid-explanation. So, this week was the mad dash through Black Temple to get up as high as we could so we could have a few days to try him. Downed Council again tonight! Which leaves us THU, SUN, and MON nights of raiding to give The Betrayer a decent go. He goes down this week!

On a different note, we’ve also been running the Zul’Aman bear run with the guild for about four weeks now. Somehow both of us got in and have been invited every time to the same stable team. We’ve missed the fourth chest a few times, but this week…

… we got to the fourth chest with 4min to spare, and bear mount dropped. And guess what our rolls were?!

Yep. I rolled a friggin’ 1, while Ash went in there and rolled a 91, taking the first bear we’ve seen in a long time. Quite a hoot to watch him take a victory lap around the room, waving his arms silently… But guess what? It’s MY turn next week. Gotta keep the matching mount motif going, right?

Went to visit Vana’diel today. Updated some time ago, but haven’t logged in since the hours of files were finished. But I snuck in tonight. Maybe I should’ve done it like Tuufless and reconfigured all my WoW settings to run like FFXI settings. Yet… when you raid, it’s hard to keep your left hand on the numpad and your right hand on the mouse, and I don’t know how to play WoW without ever using the mouse. Some people do it; I can’t.

After vainly trying to look around Bastok Markets while talking to Vagus, I decided to visit my Mog House, and on a wild hair, I checked my delivery box. I mean, who would send things to a player that hasn’t logged in in like… 2 years. But someone did! The MHMU! I got two items in the mailbox. A lovely bonbori!

Wait, what…? Hm, apperantly it’s some kind of lantern. And I sure am a sucker for those furnishings… But WAIT! That’s not all! For the incredibly cheap price of $19.99 gil, you also get this set of festival dolls!

Vagus said they were creepy.

Do they look creepy to you? DO THEY? Well… I guess a little bit. But they’re still my dolls, and I placed them next to my pumpkin lanterns… That’s one thing WoW is lacking. Houses! I mean, even LotRO has them!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, bro. I really appreciate it. But I really am afraid to set foot ouside my Mog House. But I guess it’s a good thing people can visit it now! It was so weird… I’ve spent countless hours alone in my MH. Countless hours. And now there’s a Samurai in it!

And then… I couldn’t even remember how to log out. Thankfully Vagus already caught wind of my noobness and told me to /shutdown before I was even done asking the question. ^^;
